Ashley Homestores of Newington and Manchester is seeking a knowledgeable, self-motivated, and hardworking Visual Designer to join our team. This is a full-time position responsible for creating the Ashley Homestore showroom experience through use of our products and visuals standards. Our future designer will work together with the current merchandising team in a fast paced environment to accomplish goals and maintain the showrooms at both our 40,000sq ft Newington location and 25,000sq ft Manchester location.

Responsibilities and essential duties include:

• Demonstrated ability to practice residential interior design including the ability to design and create dynamic furniture displays using color, space planning and accessories.
• Entrepreneurial attitude and approach with demonstrated strong design and merchandising skills, furniture knowledge, and strong organizational skills.
• Remain current on design and color trends to create fashionable design solutions.
• Work with the merchandising team and marketing specialists to select Ashley and non-Ashley product for display.
• Maintain all visual and merchandising standards.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

Requirements:

• A minimum of two (2) years, combined, practical interior design experience and interior design education;
• Proficient in the following programs: MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and/or AutoCAD 2013.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Detail oriented; strong organizational and time management skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record and provide own transportation.
• Photoshop, Powerpoint and Illustrator skills would be a plus”
