Ashland Food Co-Op is Hiring a Loss Prevention Officer Near Ashland, OR

SCHEDULE: Variable, up to 25 hours to start

Job Summary: Detect, apprehend, and deter customer activity that may result in a loss of company assets; promote and monitor compliance of Co-op policies and procedures related to theft prevention; promote security awareness and training.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must become DPSST certified in Oregon as an Unarmed Professional
  • Must complete and pass all required loss prevention/security training
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Self-motivated and able to work with little supervision
  • Must demonstrate urgency towards work requirements and responsibilities

General Responsibilities:

  • Promote a culture of safety, to include LP best practices
  • Detect, investigate, and successfully resolve external dishonesty
  • Ensure proper operation/repair of CCTV equipment
  • Write reports, maintain records, and retain evidence accurately and completely
  • Act as liaison between Co-op and criminal justice community
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with employees, customers, suspected shoplifters, and authorities
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding investigations. Only share confidential information with those who need to know.
  • Must accurately and completely recall and record details and events of situations that occur
