Essential FunctionsThis document in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying the position.Performs sets-up and operates a 5-axis CNC Mill to provide quality parts and tooling.Interprets and follows engineering planningPerforms inspection of machined partsPerforms MDI’s on programs when necessaryInterfaces and partners with Engineering, Programming and Quality Inspection as necessaryClearly interfaces and established effective communication with opposite shift via logbook, verbal communication and shift interchangesPerforms troubleshooting of quality errors to assist in the root cause and correction processInforms and escalates issues to the Supervisor accordingly and refrains from making modifications to the program without seeking proper approvalParticipates in 6S programs and maintains work area, tools, and equipment in a neat, clean, and orderly mannerAny additional duties as reasonably assigned by management Required Skills, Education & Experience2 years of experience operating full 5-Axis CNC millsProficient with Fanuc 15MB and 30i controls (Siemens 840D a plus) or HeidenhainAbility to read blue prints, maintain tolerances, and able to perform own set-upsExperience machining Invar, Aluminum, Composite and Graphite materialsKnowledge and understanding of machining techniques and processesTechnical aptitude and excellent judgment skillsAbility to use manual inspection equipment i.e. Micrometers, Calipers, Bore Gages etc.Ability to MDI (Manual Data Input) hole patterns and radiiThorough understanding of machining different materials and the ability to calculate spindle speed, machining feedrates, and proper chip loadKnowledge of GD&T, shop math (including trigonometry), and blueprint readingThis position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22.C.F.R. § is required PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSCNC Machinist Certification Forklift and crane experience and certificationKnowledge of advanced cutting tool technology SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITYNone TRAVEL REQUIREMENTSMost travel is primarily local during the business day. Some projects may require travel out of the area and overnight stays.
