One Year Commitment

All applicants will need to sign and return a 1 year “post graduation - commitment letter” in order to remain in the Student Nurse Intern Program.

In seeking a position as a Nurse Intern with Ascension you will be required to apply with Ascension Academics alongside your application with our Talent Acquisition team. The candidate will be required to upload the following documents: 

- Faculty recommendation letter from most recent clinical faculty

- Most recent School transcript with proof of completion of a pharmacology course where applicable

- After your application has been submitted a member of the Academics team will be reaching out to you for additional documentation and information.

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

• Complete assigned nursing orders as directed by preceptor, including assisting patient with activities of daily living and taking vital signs.
• Observe patient status and responses.
• Document and report observations to preceptor or other appropriate staff.
• Assist preceptor with development of care plan by reporting test results and patient observations.
• Perform other tasks as assigned, including environmental services and preparing/transporting patients for diagnostic services.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Enrolled in Nursing program.
