  • Schedule: FULL Time (40 hours per week)- Day shift; flexible start & end times; Rotating Weekends on call

  • Compensation: $15.50-$16.50 per hour

Responsibilities

Perform general maintenance duties throughout the Hospital and provide maintenance support services.

  • Perform various maintenance and grounds-keeping activities as assigned.

  • Complete work orders as assigned.

  • Perform snow removal and salting of parking lots and walkways as directed by Supervisor.

  • Provide hospital-wide delivery and transportation services as assigned. Delivery and transportation may include goods, supplies, staff or patients.

  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicles and tools/equipment.

  • Conduct all vehicle and lawn care equipment maintenance including, but not limited to, checking fluid levels, oil changes and general maintenance.

  • Assist other departments as assigned.

  • Participate in departmental and organizational in-service training programs and staff meetings.

  • Maintain a current level of knowledge regarding the field.

  • Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality.

  • Demonstrate behaviors that promote positive customer relations with staff, patients, and visitors.

  • Conduct peer reviews as required.

  • Train and orient new associates as assigned.

  • Follow Patients Rights policies at all times.

  • Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner.

  • Accept accountability for information contained in the bargaining unit contract and policies of the department.

  • Comply with regulatory agencies.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Act courteously toward patients, visitors, co-workers and others and respond in a timely manner to theirneeds.

  • Demonstrate safe work practices and attitudes, follow safety rules, work to prevent unsafe conditions and behaviors, and participate in organizational and departmental safety programs.

  • Specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with organizational ethics, values, mission and goals.

  • Demonstrate ability to read, write, and comprehend written material.

  • Valid and unrestricted Michigan drivers license and satisfactory driving record.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.

  • Incumbent must have the physical ability, with or without accommodations, to balance, climb, crawl, crouch, finger, grasp, kneel, lift, pull, push, reach, complete repetitive movements, stand, stoop.

  • Incumbent must have the physical ability to lift weight in excess of 100 lbs.

  • Incumbent must have the sensory and communicative activities, with or without accommodation, to feel,hear, see, smell and speak.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of one year general maintenance experience required.
