Director, Marketing Operations

The Director of Marketing Operations serves as a primary support to the Brand and Retail marketing partners, encompassing a deep understanding of our products, brands, and retail marketing. You are responsible for the execution of marketing initiatives and ensure overall success of critical marketing strategies. This position reports to the Chief Brand Officer and leads a small team of graphic designers.

What You'll Be a Part Of:

AWH is a U.S. multi-state operating cannabis company, with assets in six states including Illinois, Michigan, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. The company focuses on limited license states east of the Rockies, with flagship locations in desirable retail corridors serving key medical and adult-use markets.

Location: This is a remote position, with preference to candidates residing in: IL, PA, NJ, MA, NY, MI, OH.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Own and deliver the Marketing commercial operations function, trade marketing support and collateral ecosystem (assets, tools, content, process, platforms) including POS, merchandising, and selling materials to support our sales stakeholders.
  • Own holistic media strategy, planning, and buying
  • Manage and deliver creative, design, copywriting assets for both brand, digital, and retail
  • Provide operational marketing strategy and support to Commercialization, Operations, & Wholesale Sales
  • Manage creative agency partners
  • Own holistic marketing programming and promotional calendar across brand and retail, being a key player in the budget concepts and tactics
  • Leads partnerships with key brands
  • Own and drive marketing analytics, research, insights, and surveys to ensure the marketing department delivers smart, strategic, relevant, and on-trend strategies, products, programs, and tactics
  • Drive educational and quality strategy, programming, and assets
  • Own annual and periodic planning processes and cadence, budget planning as a team and cross-functionally
  • Analysis on marketing activities and ROI
  • Keep detailed tracking and scorecards
  • Conduct surveys to measure market and consumer insights; dispensary associates, in-store customer experience, consumers, etc.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Education, Experience, Eligibility, and Training:

  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Cannabis industry experience preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree required, MBA preferred (or equivalent work experience)
  • Minimum of 10 years of retail, brand management, marketing communications experience
  • Experience managing retail marketing and field marketing strategy and execution
  • Experience managing multiple layers of personal relationships
  • Experience mining and analyzing retail, sales, and consumer data
  • Show strong manager experience building young talent
  • Strong communication, attention to detail and organizational skills

Competencies:

  • Strong balance of strategic thinking and tactical execution
  • Interest and passion for retail and brand marketing
  • Ability to manage/work with multiple vendors and partners & stakeholders
  • Strong ability to influence cross functionally
  • Ability to analyze data, draw insights and make strategic recommendation
  • Ability to translate consumer and sales insights and data into actionable marketing programs
  • Strong project management and budget management skills; detail oriented / organized to ensure seamless program execution
  • Ability to manage multiple vendor relationships
  • Ability to effectively present programs to internal and external audiences (both large and small)

AWH offers a comprehensive compensation package for this role that includes base salary, bonus opportunity, and flexible time off. The anticipated base salary range for this role is $125,000 and $150,000.
