Ascend Performance Materials Operations LLC is Hiring a Process Control Engineer Near Pensacola, FL
Position Overview Ascend Performance Materials is the premium provider of high-quality chemicals, fibers, and plastics. Ascend has 5 manufacturing facilities in the United States, as well as sites in Europe, India, and Mexico. Ascend is searching for a Controls Engineer to join our site team in the Pensacola, Florida area. The person in this role will be responsible for troubleshooting and developing solutions for daily operations and maintenance challenge, as well as supporting project work in respect to control systems. TARGETED OUTCOMES Refresh and progress the Pensacola Site Delta V Migration Plan Serve as site representative and leader for Delta V migration projects. Project implementation and assist with advanced process controls when needed Work closely with IT to manage OT applications and provide reliable service to operations and maintenance KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Troubleshoot and develop solutions for daily operations and maintenance challenges Manage external resources Assist in development of PROVOX resource succession planning Support capital projects through design assistance, reviews and installation/startup Lead and Influence multi-functional project teams Act as a technical resource to provide solutions to operating areas and maintenance teams TEAM Reports to: Instrumentation & Controls Reliability Manager Team Members: No direct Reports Works within a team of control technicians and engineers to support maintenance, projects, and operational needs REQUIRED EXPERIENCE BS in Chemical or Electrical Engineering, or related field with relevant experience Minimum 5 years post grad experience in chemical or petrochemical facility Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills using formalized tools such as RCFA, FMEA Technical knowledge and understanding of chemical processing equipment and control systems Ability to effectively lead multifunctional teams and influence others Excellent communication skills, both written and oral Strong computer capabilities, including networking REQUIRED SKILLS PROVOX or Delta V experience or other DCS platform Understanding of safety requirements and operations in a PSM covered chemical plant Strong interpersonal skills Creative problem solver Confidence to make suggestions/ effectively influence other’s decision-making processes Skills Summary: About Us: Ascend Performance Materials is the premium provider of high quality chemicals, fibers and plastics.
