Overview

ARS/Rescue Rooter is seeking a Payroll Supervisor to join their growing Payroll team in the Corporate office in Memphis, TN. The Payroll Supervisor manages the processing and coordination of HR and payroll data. Leads the HR/Payroll Specialists to ensure that computing, withholding, and deductions associated with net pay are done properly. Organizes and reviews forms associated with federal, state, and local authorities, such as W-2s. Ensures payroll records are updated and reports on any matters of interest. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coaches the HR/Payroll Specialists in their daily tasks.• Aids in the resolution of HR and payroll issues by helping the team understand and research problems. Investigates and resolves escalated issues.• Reviews executive payroll preview for accuracy and approve for processing.• Ensures all payrolls are processed accurately and timely.• Develops and processes audits to ensure department policies and procedures are being followed.• Documents and tracks policy and procedure errors. Councils team members within 24 hours of when errors are identified, or as soon as possible if that timeframe is unattainable. Summarizes and provides weekly report to Payroll Manager.• Ensures FLSA compliance in all areas of responsibility, as well as with other federal and state compliance.• Brings concerns or violation situations to the attention of the Payroll Manager.• Stays knowledgeable on the available reporting system to ensure the ability to obtain information requested for the Divisions, Legal, and Executives.• Stays abreast of the current time and attendance system and notifies the time and attendance administrator of any issues or concerns.• Lead and ensure a smooth and accurate process for the company’s annual merit increase, including the creation and distribution of the spreadsheets, instructions, and update process.• Ensures acquisition employees are transitioned to ARS timely and seamlessly and assist with due diligence as it relates to HR and Payroll.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 - 7 years’ experience in HR and Payroll administration are required.• Related experience and/or advanced training or any equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.• Must be computer literate with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
