AZPetVet is seeking a Veterinary Assistant/Technician to join our team!

We are a growing family of animal hospitals with locations throughout the Greater Phoenix area. In 1984, the first practice (Arrow Animal Hospital) opened in the Glendale area. Today, that practice has grown to a family of 22 collaborative hospitals built upon the principle of outstanding patient care and client service.

The Veterinary Assistant/Technician assists in the practice of veterinary medicine under the direct supervision of a Veterinarian or Veterinary Hospital Manager.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None

Veterinary Assistant/Technician Duties/Responsibilities:

• Responsible for client communication (verbal and written) regarding all aspects of the client’s pet.
• Medical record management through practice management software program.
• General duties include dispensation of medication, performing x-rays, performing blood draws, placing catheters, obtaining samples, providing treatments, running diagnostic equipment, nursing care, vaccine administration, and animal restraint.
• Utilization (set-up, breakdown, cleaning, maintaining) of medical equipment.
• Cleaning all areas of the hospital.

Veterinary Assistant/Technician Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassion and empathy for pets, clients, and staff
• Detail Oriented
• Great sense of urgency

Veterinary Assistant/Technician Education and Experience:

• Preferred: Associates Degree in Veterinary Assisting.
• Preferred: Certified Veterinary Technician

Veterinary Assistant/Technician Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds.
• Standing for long periods of time, walking, sitting, squatting, pushing, pulling, using hands and fingers for technical and administrative work.
• May have extended periods of time viewing computer screens and reading.
