Description

The Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager drives sustainable continuous improvements within Armada, delivering breakthrough results in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC), while building cultural change throughout the organization. The CI Manager works closely with plant leadership and department employees to achieve results. This position requires strong technical Lean Manufacturing and hand-on leadership skills, along with a passion for operations excellence, to be successful.

  • Lead and facilitate Kaizen events to drive sustainable improvements;
  • Work closely with Plan CI tem to develop and execute improvement action plans;
  • Build an employee engaged work environment;
  • Develop tracking tools and measures to support CI initiatives;
  • Develop business case justification for projects and initiatives;
  • Provide and teach CI tools to team members;
  • Establish and drive productivity pipeline roadmaps across departments and facility;
  • Track and analyze the CI process and manufacturing matrices;
  • Benchmark performance across the facilities and industry to identify areas of opportunity;
  • Challenge the status quo to find ways to optimize manufacturing performance to deliver superior results;
  • Build a CI culture across the organization;
  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university required, preferably in Engineering, Math, Science Business or Operations or equivalent work experience considered
  • 5 years in a manufacturing environment;
  • 3-5 years of Continuous Improvement experience, preferred;
  • Strong application knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing techniques and related CI tools required: Root Cause Analysis, Kaizen Blitz, Value Stream Mapping, OEE, Labor Analysis, 5S, 7 Wastes, Pit Stop Changeovers, etc.
  • Ability to identify problems;
  • Very strong communication skills;
  • Demonstrated effective team player.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Minitab
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.;
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time;
  • Must be able to wear any required PPE such as scrubs, hair net, lab coat, and facemask;
  • Ability to work in a packaging area with a moderate powder substance in the air with or without a respirator;
  • Ability to work above shoulders;
  • Other physical requirements include frequent squatting, bending, twisting, and bi-lateral wrist movement;
  • Ability to work around a variety of different smells and aromas;
  • Ability to view a computer screen and type for extended hours;
  • Work environment is normally in an office setting;
  • Must be able to make frequent rounds in a warehouse environment;
  • Ability to adjust work schedule as business needs require
