Arkwin Industries is Hiring an Assembly Technician Near Westbury, NY

Position Summary:

Through continuous training and personal development, the entry level Assembly Technician shall be able to work in a fast-paced, high-tech environment. The Assembly Technician must be detail oriented and well organized and responsible for a wide variety of functions that support the assembly and production team. Such functions include part handling, cleaning, and marking; Sub-assembly and Top-level assembly; Safety wiring and flushing. The Assembly Technician must be willing to work with computers and be a motivated team player.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Mate and Assembly components using a variety of tools and methods not limited to Hand, Electric, and Pneumatic tools; Wrenches, Sockets, Screwdrivers, Torque drivers; Helical Insert Installation Tools; Arbor-press; as well as custom job-specific tooling
  • Install electrical components such as LVDT’s and Switches
  • Must be able to read and interpret mechanical and electrical diagrams and schematics
  • Select, setup, and follow procedures using fixturing and tooling described in company documents
  • Enter and retrieve data from the company computer system
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area

Job Qualification Requirements:

Training and Experience:

  • High School Diploma; Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel

Physical Demands:

  • Push, Pull and reach overhead; exert and lift 50 pounds to move objects
  • Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading drawings and specifications, measuring instruments, computer screens and documents.
  • Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action

Working Conditions The Employee May be Subjected to:

  • High noise levels from operating machines
  • Physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts

The employee may be required to follow and perform other job-related duties at their supervisor’s request, subject to all applicable state and federal laws

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
