About the Shop & Maintenance Technician Position

The Shop and Maintenance Technician will be responsible for conducting at least basic maintenance on the Peak 1 Express (P1E) fleet. They will be responsible for all aspects of maintaining the fleet. This means an inventory of all necessary supplies, a clean and functional workspace, and a clean and well-kept yard. This position must be able to coordinate with multiple supervisors in 3 locations to coordinate basic and more advanced maintenance and diagnosis. 

• JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain a clean shop
  • Become proficient with Hudson reservation and dispatch software in order to log maintenance
  • Order needed parts with accuracy to prevent down time
  • Monitor equipment in both shop and wash bay
  • Clean yard
  • Maintain equipment inventory
    • Wiper blades
    • Lights (headlight low and high beam, tail lights, brake lights, etc)
    • Fluids (Oil, DEF, ATF, Windshield wiper, Water, Carwash soap, Other cleaning supplies)
    • Oil Filters
    • Fuel filters
    • Towels
    • Tire weights
    • Winter and summer tires
  • Perform Paint touch ups as needed
  • Coordinate 3rd party maintenance – Mercedes Benz, body work
  • Diagnose issues with all of the fleet
  • Complete work orders as turned in by managers and drivers
  • Log all maintenance electronically
  • Perform Lube, Oil, Filter changes on scheduled maintenance intervals
  • Monitor tire performance and life on all of the fleet
  • Perform tire changes and rotations as necessary and on schedule
  • Monitor brake performance and life and change brakes as necessary
  • Plow yard as part of yard upkeep
  • Assist with vehicle recovery when necessary
  • Manage and monitor compliance with FMCSA and PUC regulations regarding maintenance and records for the fleet
  • Manage a maintenance and equipment budget
  • Generate and turn-in weekly maintenance/work order priority lists at the beginning of each week for that week
  • Perform windshield chip repair
  • Work with operations staff to schedule all maintenance including windshield replacement
  • Install all necessary equipment on new vehicles and seasonal changes
  • Become proficient in current GPS tracking solutions software 

• REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
  • Prior mechanic experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively across departments
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Ability to interact in a friendly and comfortable manner with potential vendors, guests, and employees via phone and in person
  • Extremely detailed oriented
  • Highly computer literate
  • Team oriented
  • Must be available for weekends, holidays and early mornings
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check
  • Clean driving record
