Arizona G&T Cooperatives is Hiring an Equipment Operator Near Cochise, AZ

The Equipment Operator position will be responsible for the operation, preventative maintenance of assigned mobile equipment, including loaders, dozers, cranes, backhoes, boom truck, fuel and limestone unloading and transfer systems.

Successful candidates must meet the following minimum requirements for the position:

  • Two years in the operation of light and heavy equipment of which one year should have been gained in the operation of heavy diesel equipment
  • High School education or equivalent.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience in the operation and maintenance of light and heavy equipment.
  • Working knowledge and experience in the use and application of lubricants for light and heavy equipment.
  • Ability to compile and maintain accurate records as needed.
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable safety methods and recognition of hazards associated with the operation of equipment.
  • Some knowledge of power plant operations and maintenance.
  • Ability to assist and direct personnel in equipment repair including tool use and in the direction of co-workers.
  • Thorough knowledge of rigging and crane safety.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to occupational duties.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations related to duties.
  • Shall possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona Commercial Drivers License (Class B) within six months from date of hire.
  • Shall be required to obtain crane certification within the six month probationary period.

The physical requirements of the job include:

  • Must be capable of obtaining respirator certification;
  • Must be capable of performing substantial outside work;
  • Must be capable of daily lifting of 50 pounds;
  • Must be capable of sitting in an operators seat for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work at heights.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and heavy equipment access ladders.
