Job Summary:
The Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections (ADJC) is seeking Administrative Assistant 3 who will be responsible for providing administrative support to an agency executive, performing a wide variety of complex administrative tasks. This position will work independently and use critical thinking with general instruction on a variety of projects while using word, data processing equipment, and other automated office equipment. Job Duties:
Provides administrative support and general oversight of day-to-day office operations such as responding to telephone, letter and email inquiries
Develops and maintains reports; creates forms; drafts, edits, and proofreads internal and external correspondences; data entry utilizing spreadsheets and/or databases
Coordinates and maintains calendar(s) as appropriate; schedules meeting and appointments
Orders office supplies; maintains office inventory assists; liaisons with other agencies
Attends meetings, takes and distributes meeting minutes
Assists with planning of events and special activities within the department
Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge of:
-State Personnel Rules, policies and practices
-General office equipment
-Proper use of the English language including correct grammar and spelling

-Computer software, including but not limited to Google Suites
Skill in:

-Plan, organize, and coordinate activities and schedules

-Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
Selective Preference(s):
Three (3) years of responsible administrative experience and/or bachelor’s degree in the field appropriate to the assignment
Bilingual skills in Spanish/English preferred but not required
Pre-Employment Requirements:
Requires possession of, and ability to retain a current valid Arizona-issued driver’s license. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license records checks, maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12).
The successful candidate is required to complete the following:
1. Panel Interview
2. Comprehensive Background Investigation
3. Fingerprinting
Arizona residency is required for this position. 
Current State of Arizona employees: In order to be considered for this position, it requires acceptable performance history as demonstrated by no formal discipline within one year preceding this job posting close date, and an overall rating of “meets expectations” or higher on the most recent employee performance evaluation.
