Network Engineer

We are looking for a Network Engineer to work in our Stafford, VA office with option to work 99% remote and come to the office when needed.

Ariel Team provides agile software development and maintenance for CODIS, a mission-critical application for the FBI. CODIS is a client server application developed using Microsoft .NET that supports a database repository of DNA profiles from individuals, unsolved crime scene evidence, and missing persons. CODIS software allows local, state, and national laboratories to compare DNA profiles electronically, thereby linking serial crimes to each other and identifying suspects by matching DNA profiles from crime scenes to individuals’ profiles.

The Network Engineer will support the CODIS Program. The engineer will be responsible for configuring routing and VPN connections as needed to provide connectivity between on-site assists and Cloud assets. They will also be responsible for configuration of firewall rules to allow proper secure communication in the environment and provide security configurations to be compliant with DoD STIGs. Advanced routing knowledge will be needed for the complex networks used.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• US Citizen with Active Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field)
  • Network Administration experience and Install and maintain Cisco products
• 5 years of experience with Firewall management especially Cisco ASA firewalls including VPN configurations
  • Experience with switch and firewall security settings implementation
• 5 years of experience with Cisco Router and Switch management
• 5 years of experience with VPN routing and endpoint setup
• 5 years of experience with Cloud network security and routing
  • Routing inside and outside of Cloud environments (Azure Government, Azure, AWS, on-prem)
• 5 years of experience with Cisco command line
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking including Cloud connection protocols
• 3 years of experience with security guidelines for network configurations to meet these guides
  • Security scanning and remediation of vulnerabilities for Cisco products and Cloud networks
  • Maximize network security by monitoring patching processes and improving as necessary
  • Strong attention to detail and solid troubleshooting ability
• Cisco Certification(s) - CCNP preferred
  • Occasional need for off-hours support for system maintenance activities

DESIRED SKILLS

• Experience in Agile SDLC, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Deployment
  • Previous experience working in a software development shop
  • Knowledge of security monitoring/scanning tools and their usage.
  • Firepower/snort management
  • Syslog and SEIM experience
