Our office in Tucson, AZ has an immediate opening for a Electrical Engineer reporting to the Principal Electrical Engineer. This is an exempt non-supervisory full-time position. 

The Successful Candidate:

This senior technical leadership position will contribute to a wide range of activities related to the company’s design, development, testing, and production of electronic, electro-optic, and sensing systems for the United States Government. These systems include LIDAR, advanced imaging, high performance computing platforms, and other advanced technologies. The Ideal candidate will have significant experience in a broad range technologies such as: Advanced processing systems using CPUs, GPGPUs, and FPGAs; Multiprocessor architectures; Embedded and systems software engineering; System architecture design; High speed PCB development; and Power system design. This senior position also requires an individual who is passionate about leading technical efforts and mentoring more junior team members resulting in successful program development as well as a motivated and technically growing technical staff. Experience working with cross functional teams and senior management as well as strong communication and presentation skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Provide technical leadership and lead cross functional teams in designing advanced electronic and electro-optic equipment
• Contribute to the design and architecture of high performance computing platforms including flight systems using custom hardware to meet challenging space constraints and environmental requirements
• Develop detailed designs of circuit card and system electronics including schematics, component selection, and layout requirements
• Perform layout or assist with layout of circuit cards
• Work with vendors to fabricate and assemble circuit cards and other electronic assemblies
• Hands on testing, troubleshooting, and system integration of circuit cards and electronic systems
• Design, develop, implement, test, and validate equipment and methods to support production of electro-optic systems
• Support new and existing technical and cost proposals
• Support system design and implementation from initial concept through production
• Create technical briefing material and presentations for internal and external customers

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• BS/BA in Computer/Electronics Engineering or similar discipline
• Minimum 7 years of experience.
• Knowledge of the circuit-card design process, and direct experience in circuit card development from schematic through fabrication, and assembly. Experience with Altium Designer is a plus.
• Excellent command of electronic circuit theory including use of opamps, regulators, transistors, and various passive components
• Experience using FPGAs and microprocessors including both code and hardware development
• Experience leading development of complex systems requiring multidiscipline teams and critical subcontractors
• Ability to both work with and produce requirements documents and system specifications
• Ability to obtain a top secret security clearance. Current security clearance preferred
• Excellent presentation skills with the ability to present complex technical subjects to internal and external customers
• US Citizenship
