As an Electrical Engineer at Arete, you are responsible for researching, designing, developing, and testing a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including lasers, lidar and electro ‐ optic sensors; power electronics; communications equipment and systems; circuitry components and integrated circuits; analog and digital computers, processors, field programmable gate arrays (FPGA) and associated firmware; and control and test equipment. Developing detailed designs of circuit card and system electronics including schematics, component selection, and layout requirements. Performing layout or assist with layout of circuit cards and working with vendors to fabricate and assemble circuit cards and other electronic assemblies. Hands on testing, troubleshooting, and system integration of circuit cards and electronic systems. Supporting new and existing technical and cost proposals. Supporting system design and implementation from initial concept through production. This position is based in our Longmont, CO office. This is an exempt non-supervisory full-time position.

· B.S. or higher in an Engineering or related field with 5 years of experience.
· Significant direct production
· Engineering experience may substitute for education.
The salary range for this role is $70,000 to $125,000; however, Arete considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to: the position and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills .
Other Requirements
U.S. citizenship is required to meet position eligibility.
Selected applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Successful passage of a criminal background screen is required to meet position eligibility. Areté will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of the Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring.
Successful passage of a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug test is required to meet position eligibility.
