Ares is Hiring a Project Coordinator Near Washington, DC

ARES Corporation has an exciting opportunity available for a Project Coordinator supporting NASA HQ Office of Safety and Mission Assurance. 

The Project Coordinator will be responsible for working in a team and supporting the OSMA Safety and Mission Assurance Requirements and Policy efforts, the Safety and Mission Success Review program, and the OSMA administrative team assuring the successful completion of NASA project engagements in accordance with work orders, budgets, customer expectations, and best practices. The successful candidate will use a range of project management, technical requirements management, and general administrative skills to manage projects/processes, and deliverables, and to support the HQ OSMA office. The successful candidate will be able to be flexible working across different work areas and teams to provide customer relationships and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and responsiveness. The Project Coordinator will work as part of a team on client engagements with minimal direct supervision.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide program review, requirements development, and general administrative support for NASA projects.
  • Assist small and medium-sized teams in the delivery of services.
  • Apply project and business management skills to assure the timely, satisfactory, and cost-effective completion of customer requirements.
  • Demonstrate successful program management processes, documentation experience, planning and reporting, and strong customer service skills.
  • Demonstrate analytical skills to work with NASA customers to understand their requirements and make decisions based on those requirements.
  • Participate in lifecycle project management including requirements analysis, design, and implementation as well as timely, accurate delivery of client work.
  • Apply interpersonal skills to communicate with both technical and business-oriented individuals.
  • Ability to develop deliverables, presentations, project plans, and spreadsheets. Individuals must have an excellent knowledge of the MS Office suite and be able to work quickly and effectively in all applications.

Minimum Position Requirements:

  • Coordinate and track projects and manage communications between the project teams.
  • Ensure deadlines are met and projects stay on schedule.
  • Assist with the production of preparation of technical reports and creation of presentations.
  • Schedule and participate in conference calls and webinars with clients.
  • Work on other administrative tasks as necessary.
  • Works independently and may provide guidance/training for less experienced personnel.
  • Demonstrable experience in writing technical requirements, project plans, technical documents, and presentations required. Individuals must have a high degree of skills with the MS Office toolsets.
  • A high degree of interpersonal skill in working with various levels of technical and business-oriented individuals is required. Prior experience in a government services environment is preferred.
  • Candidates may be able to remotely but on-site visits to work with project teams will be required.
  • Must reside in the local WashDC metro area.
  • Certifications: PMI CPAM certification or other PMI certifications are a plus.
  • Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain a public trust background clearance.

Education and Relevant Work Experience:

  • Education: AA/AS degree.
  • Ten years of progressively responsible federal consulting experience including program review, planning, and execution and technical requirements development and policy development, and general administrative support.
  • Experience in the NASA environment is preferred.
