Description
This position will cover the Mena and Waldron areas.
Responsible for providing spiritual support to assigned hospice patients and their families/caregivers. Makes provisions for support through the patient’s identified religious community or provides direct visitation, counseling, memorial services and bereavement support.
- Provides bereavement counseling and spiritual services to patients and their families/caregivers.
- Participates in a comprehensive assessment to meet identified spiritual needs.
- Attends patient care conference and interdisciplinary group meetings as a member of the interdisciplinary group.
- Provides consultation, education and support to the interdisciplinary group on spiritual care.
- Provides for funeral or memorial services for patients as requested.
- Maintains accurate, timely records for all assigned patients.
- Represents the Area Agency on Aging, Inc. within the community.
- Maintains privacy and report privacy violations to the Administrator.
Requirements
- Graduate of accredited seminary or school of theology, ordained minister. 1 years of Hospice experience preferred.
- Ability to work as a member of the interdisciplinary group.
- Ability to accept different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs and values.
- Ability to network within the community.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the hospice philosophy of care.
- Valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance.
- Available on a 24-hour basis as needed for counseling services.
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or provide a medical or religious exemption request.
