JOB DESCRIPTION – LEAD CARPENTER

Overview: The Lead Carpenter is responsible for assisting the production department with completion of construction-related projects, in a professional and timely manner. They will traditionally be working on two to three smaller projects or one high profile, or complicated projects at a time, as assigned by the production department.

Overall Responsibilities:

Customer service; Carpentry labor; Job clean-up; Completion date as specified; Maintenance of job records.

Duties:

• Developing a detailed materials list for assigned projects.
• Ordering all materials and coordinating delivery or pick up of materials as required.
• Being available for routine on call emergency services and after-hours work.
• Working on jobs in production.
• Responsible for the finished product. Quality and efficiency.
• Taking assigned projects to completion based on written scope of repairs.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe job site.
• Developing professional relationships and working with subcontractors. Responsible for the finished product of the subcontractors.
• Updating production files and paperwork and maintaining detailed job notes including conversations with customer.
• Updating project manager and coordinator on any changes in details of project.
• Customer Service duties, including but not limited to:
• Customer cheerleader development.
• Problem resolution.
• Providing production manager with detailed accounting of services for billing process. (Open items, change orders and necessary supplements.)
• Obtaining signed change orders for all work not on original estimate.
• Following written production procedures.
• Obtaining permits and meeting with building inspectors and mortgage company inspectors.
• Report to the production department regarding job progress, on a daily basis.

* Must have a clean driving record, be able to pass a drug screen and have not criminal history ( felony). 

*Must have a clean and professional appearance and any facial hair trimmed close.

*Must have own hand tools.

**Must be willing to work Emergency on call schedule as needed ( typically 1 week out of the month.)
