ENTITY: Centro San Juan Diego of the Archdiocese of Denver. The Archdiocese of Denver serves the Catholic Community of Northern Colorado and its various parishes, missions, apostolates, and schools in accordance with the Gospel values of the Catholic Church (the Church).
THE POSITION: The Family Support Specialist works to promote the strengthening and enrichment of Hispanic families at Centro San Juan Diego and throughout the Archdiocese of Denver. This includes envisioning, developing, and executing programs that provide education and support for families to foster their full participation into the abundant life and mission of the Archdiocese of Denver, its parishes, and society as a whole. This includes researching and providing current and relevant program and service development for families in the areas of communication, parenting skills, intergenerational relationships, prevention of domestic violence, and suicide prevention, among others. The Specialist will develop partnerships with other institutions and lead efforts to launch counseling services at Centro. Also, the Specialist is responsible for recruiting, training, and providing the tools necessary for teachers and volunteers; will keep records of attendance and grades as needed and will establish and maintain public and community relations to learn and share about existing programs through Hispanic Ministry networks and Centro San Juan Diego. In addition, the Specialist will collaborate with other Archdiocese of Denver departments, specifically the Office of Evangelization and Family Life Ministries, and parishes to implement relevant and essential educational and formation opportunities. All responsibilities are performed under the supervision of the Director of Centro San Juan Diego, in accordance with the teachings of the Catholic Church and the goals and objectives of the organization.
