The Position

The Compliance Specialist is a key member of the Global Compliance Group of a leading global public insurance company. In this role, you will primarily support the Senior Compliance Officer, as well as provide support to the General Counsel’s office by helping to maintain and oversee the Global Compliance Group Compliance Program.

You will also assist in the management of critical compliance processes, including project management, program documentation, training and reporting, policy administration, data management, risk assessments, and communications. This position will require interaction with our international Legal and Compliance colleagues.

This position requires someone to be based on the east coast. We are open to any of our east coast office locations or remote. 

Job Responsibilities

• Support the management of various Group Compliance projects and initiatives, including tracking, documentation and reporting.
• Manage the development and implementation of training requirements as outlined in the Compliance Plan.
• Manage the review, update, approval and implementation of key governance policies and procedures.
• Assist with compliance communications to create employee awareness about key compliance principles and initiatives.
• Perform special projects, as needed, to support the Global Compliance Group.
• Assist General Counsel’s office with research and other projects relating to compliance.

Required Skills/Experience

• 3-5 years of project management experience.
• Experience working in compliance at a large insurance or financial services company.
• Excellent technical skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Able to support, lead and effect transformational change efforts.
• Strong, intuitive self-starter.

Desired Skills/Experience

• Experience working for a public company.
• Experience working with GRC and LMS platforms.
• Experience with a global workforce.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree.
• PMP certification preferred.
