Responsibilities

Arcfield is seeking a Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) specialist to support our US Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) customer on a full-time basis. In this position you will support SSP’s strategic weapons systems efforts as part of a trusted team that serves as the Navy’s independent evaluator in the areas of programmatic and systems engineering support, technical engineering and scientific support, and operational systems support. 

Using a holistic approach, designs, develops, evaluates and modifies end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle. Generates quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics. Ensures requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods. Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower level detailed implementation requirements. Designs interfaces and brings system elements together so they work as a whole. Participates in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts. Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with multi-discipline engineering teams to develop lower level detailed requirements. Participates in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation.

Serve as a hands-on MBSE developer, working with other Arcfield and contractor personnel in the development of Navy digital twins. Provide support in implementing an MBSE environment at Arcfield. Assist Arcfield in developing solutions to technical MBSE challenges with varying degrees of complexity. Interface with Navy, DOE (NNSA), and contractor personnel, as required.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• A BS or MS in Systems Engineering, or an engineering degree having a systems engineering emphasis, with 5-7 years experience and hands-on use of MBSE tools such as Cameo, Matlab, ModelCenter, Syndeia, and SysML.
• Ability to participate in MBSE model development for the required Navy digital twin models.
• Software development skills (e.g., Java, etc.) in order to write Cameo “plugins” in Java.
• Knowledge of development environments (visual studio, eclipse, etc.).
• Skills with build and CM tools (git, maven, etc.).
• Experience with integrated tool environments and toolsmith skills for data and file format transformations.
• Top Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain the clearance once employed by Arcfield. This includes the ability to maintain the clearance.

• Desired Qualifications:
• An MBSE certification
• Engineering experience with either hardware or software development
• Awareness of DoDAF, UAF, UPDM, etc. so as to interface with contractors who have rolled-out different environments,
• Knowledge of UML/SysML so designs can be understood and adjusted
• Experience with integrated tool environments and toolsmith skills for data and file format transformations
• Knowledge of scripting languages
• Experience with multiple operating systems (e.g., Linux, Windows) and how that might impact the environment, access, available tools, etc.
• Experience with managing long term evolutionary development efforts as an “integrator”
• Ability to work independently
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
