Responsibilities

We are currently searching for a new, full-time member for our team for the position of Jr. Information Assurance Specialist/Cybersecurity Engineer supportiing our customer in the Charleston, SC area. As an IA Specialist/Cybersecurity Engineer, the candidate will work alongside our government customer ensuring our customer’s data and infrastructure are protected.

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Plans, implements, manages, monitors, and upgrades security measures for the protection of data, systems, and networks;
  • Troubleshoots security and network problems;
  • Supports engineering designs to include: testing process, developing test tools and procedures to meet test objectives, troubleshoot and debug issues, improve software security as needed;
  • Ensures security controls are in place to safeguard digital files and vital electronic infrastructure; 
  • Assists in developing artifacts for inclusion in authorization package(s);
  • Assists in assessing system vulnerabilities for security risks and support and the determined risk mitigation strategies.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Requires):

  • Willingness to pursue U.S. Government DoD Top Secret clearance required
  • Willingness to pursue CISSP or Security Certification required
  • 4 year degree
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Experience with Linux command line environments
  • Experience with developing test objectives, test cases, and test procedures

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with scripting tools such as ruby, python, and bash
  • Experience with C# and Visual Basic for Applications
  • Familiarity with Agile software concepts and practices
