Manufacturing Engineer Co-Op Job Description

Overall Responsibility & Overview:
The ideal student is a 3rd or 4th-year student currently enrolled in a Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering program with some knowledge in general project management, manufacturing methods, and drawing software. More importantly, this individual is self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented and regarded as reliable, helpful and dedicated by colleagues.

Accountabilities:

  • Assist with Manufacturing projects within Engineering group
  • Complete tasks assigned by Engineering Manager and ensure timelines are met
  • Assist with ad-hoc reports and projects

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

  • Experience in AutoCAD/ Solid Works preferred
  • Experience withing Automated Manufacturing as an asset
  • Experience in launching Automated equipment as an asset
  • Experience in High Powered Laser as an asset
  • Knowledge in Lean and World Class Manufacturing as an asset
  • Knowledge in Industrial Welding Exposure as an asset
  • Profession in GD&T as an asset
  • 100% Accuracy of drawing as per the direction provided
  • Ability to demonstrate problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Adaptable in an ever-changing work environment
  • Driven individual with a desire to achieve results
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally
