ATD Aquatic Manager:
30-40 hours per week in school
Subject to change based on school's need
Maintain an AT-MWSI Certification
At least 1 shift teaching swim lessons per week, but no more than 3 permanent shifts
Coordinate and manage pool operations - implementing local State/County Health Department standards (1.1.1 Minor Incident-Aquatic Response) guidelines
Clear and constant communication between GM and MIT

Develop, mentor, and identify future leaders in the next generation of excellent swim instructors for Aqua-Tots
Follow and implement Aqua-Tots Swim Schools customer service guidelines to ensure an exceptional customer experience for every customer
Communicate effectively with potential and existing customers
Build relationships with families, know their names and their children's names
Use the customer-focused principle in each customer interaction
Administrative Tasks
1 hour per week participating in ATD AM call
Verify time clock with scheduled shifts in WIW prior to payroll
2-4 hours per week for administrative tasks
Keeping training forms up to date and completed in a timely manner.
Ensuring WSI Schedule is updated and reflects correctly each week.
Student Reports pulled by specified due dates give by MIT
Stuck students
Aged Out Students
Weekly WSI assessments completed and turned into MIT
Weekly school update email sent to MIT at the end of each week
Includes: WSI hired, in training, completed training, quality concerns etc.
Responsible for hiring, training, assessing, coaching and performance of aquatic staff
Responsible for completing training verification form on all new AT-WSI
Create, maintain, and review instructor schedules
Oversee substitute instructors and resolve scheduling conflicts
Anticipate staffing needs
Address aquatic customer concerns, providing a win/win outcome
Respond to parents within 24 hours of any reported instructor performance concern
Report unresolved aquatic complaints to General Manager/MIT
Aquatic Training/Pool Operations
Minimum of 1-2 hours conducting assessments and 5-10 hours per week training and conducting instructor assessments. Time based on demand
Training can be, but not limited to, co-teaching and IWSE.
Complete WSI assessments & co-teaching based on assessment schedule and AT-WSI needs
Ensure that all AT-MWSI meet certification requirements
Keep up and utilize all curriculum related information from HQ
Ensure quality of Aqua-Tots curriculum
Ensure quality and progression of lessons
Schedule monthly in-services and choose the in-service topic for the month
Conduct two safety in-services per year following HQ guidelines
AM Weekly Schedule:
AM is expected to work at least every other Saturday
AM must be able to close at least one day per week and open one day per week (will shift based on school's demand)
Time off in peak season is limited. All time off requests must be put in 2 weeks in advance. Time off is not guaranteed depending on the needs of the swim school.
During Summer a minimum of 1 Manager On Duty shift per week
Daily Duties
Supervise and support aquatic staff
Oversee all swim instructor schedules, subbing when needed if no instructor is available to cover
Follow and complete (1.1.1 Opening and Closing the Pool) checklist
Manage swim instructor performance issues and instructor specific concerns
Host pre-shift and post-shift meetings
Coordinate and manage pool operations- implementing local State/County HD standards, including, but not limited to vacuuming, backwashing, and chemical balancing
Monitor deck supervisors
Weekly Duties
Aquatic scheduling/adjustments
Meeting with OM/GM
Monitor aquatic staff 90% attendance policy
Develop plan for stuck students and implement changes
Take water sample to local pool store
Participate in ATD AM calls
Weekly update sent to MIT
Conduct and submit AT-WSI Assessments and Safety Assessments based on guidelines given
