Position Description
As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:
- Manage and conduct highly technical accounting research using third party resources or databases to interpret and apply technical accounting rules to complex transactions, develop solutions to problems, document policies and procedures, as needed, and effectively communicate the results
- Lead the implementation of new and highly complex accounting standards, documenting position papers in a comprehensive, clear, and concise technical accounting memo, and ensuring appropriate disclosure
- Clearly articulate and educate Finance team members and other departments with respect to the impact of complex accounting transactions, accounting policies, new standards, and other technical matters
- Monitor emerging accounting and reporting regulations from the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and other regulators and communicate potential areas of impact
- Perform financial close procedures, as needed, on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and other analyses related to complex accounting areas
- Participate in the quarter-end and annual close and financial statement review
- Perform a detailed review of the team’s deliverables as well as various hands-on responsibilities
- Ensure revenue recognition policies and procedures follow ASC 606, U.S. GAAP, other pertinent authoritative literature, and the company’s established policies
- Determine the appropriate revenue recognition treatment for all new product and service introductions and prepare accounting memos for non-standard customer contracts
- Maintain documentation of company-wide accounting policies and procedures
- Assist in internal audits and Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) business and information technology cycle related activities such as objective/risk mapping, walkthroughs, key control identification, developing test plans, testing, and reporting
- Provide internal and external audit support
- Act as a change agent for implementing new ideas and process improvements in an increasingly complex environment
- Assist with special projects and ad-hoc requests, as necessary
- Invite, train, lead, and coach team members
Position Requirements
This position requires the following skills and attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication with individuals at all levels within the organization
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership for projects and drive to completion
- Strong technical, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent teamwork and managerial skills
- Sound judgement and decision-making skills
- Must have experience with international consolidations and technical accounting research, including experience with revenue recognition and leases
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, and financial reporting including generally accepted accounting principles

Preferred
The following position requirements are preferred:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), public company accounting, or “Big 4” experience
- Knowledge of Systems, Applications & Products (SAP) and Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC)
