A day in the life (just a few of the things you may do on any given day):

The Accounts Payable Analyst is responsible for processing full-cycle accounts payable, utilizing Deltek Costpoint; to include coding and entering vendor invoices, processing employee expense reimbursements, scheduling and processing vendor payments, and maintaining accurate records and control reports.

The ideal candidate for this position will be a collaborative professional with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. This is a hybrid position in the DMV area.

You will excel in this role if you are:

  • Process AP transactions ensuring invoices are processed timely with each cycle.

  • Process weekly/monthly manual payments (ACH/autopay) against invoices.

  • Lead the weekly AP check run meeting to include recommending payments, tracking outstanding payables, uploading payments to bank, and providing inputs for weekly cash forecast.

  • Works with internal managers to verify approval of invoices to ensure timely payment of vendor invoices.

  • Manage employee expense report review for math accuracy, proper approval and receipts, and adhere to federal compliance requirements (JTR, FAR 31.205) and Company policy.

  • Ensures the integrity of the AP system files, records, and documents.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with new or existing vendors.

  • Receives, researches, and resolves a variety of routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status, account discrepancies and follows-through to resolution.

  • Validate, perform general analysis, and reconciliations of employee travel advances and reimbursements, vendor and subcontractor invoices to ensure accurate posting of costs to the general ledger in coordination with Finance and Budget owners.

  • Participate in month-end close activities.

  • Responsible for efficiently performing assigned general accounting functions to include account reconciliations.

  • Understands requirements for 1099 vendors and assists with annual reporting for IRS 1099 preparation and reconciliations.

  • Assist with annual financial statement audit.

  • Perform special projects and other duties, as assigned, to support the Accounting Department.

What we are expecting from you (i.e., the qualifications you must have):

  • Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business, or at least 5 years of relevant or transferable experience required.
  • Government contracting experience.
  • Must have experience processing Accounts Payable in Deltek Costpoint.
  • Proficient in MS Office, intermediate proficiency in Excel.
  • Utilizing good judgement, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to follow through on assigned duties.
  • The ability to complete a task while demonstrating a thorough concern for all the areas involved, no matter how small.
  • Demonstrate accountability and proactively manage workload to meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
  • Desire to be a part of and support a proven accounting team while having the ability to work independently to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills are required.
  • Experience with Federal government regulations (FAR, JTR, GSA)
  • Must have a working knowledge of Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (2 CFR 200), and Federal Acquisition Regulations regarding travel, direct and indirect costs, and unallowable expenses.
