The transition to Electric Vehicles (EV) is a key strategic priority for Applegreen, and we are embarking on significant investment in the area, given its importance for the future of our business. Applegreen have a proven track record in the design and operation of world class EV charging facilities with over 500 EV Fast Charging bays in operation on our estate across the USA, UK and Ireland. Applegreen provides over 1,000,000 fast charging sessions to its customers per year in a rapidly growing transition to more sustainable transport fuels with a range of early mover partners including Tesla, Ecotricity, Chargepoint and others. In 2019 Applegreen commenced owning and operating universal access Applegreen Electric Vehicle charging bays. This provides a seamless customer experience to all customers and ensures all EV drivers have equal open access to fast chargers irrespective of the EV car brand they choose to own.
Position Summary:
Applegreen Electric is seeking to recruit
a Second Line Support/ Technical Support Engineer who will help manage a rapidly growing network of EV chargers across the US. As one of the first hires, the ideal candidate will be comfortable with defining operational flows and will be seeking to grow into a leadership pathway.

The successful candidate will be tasked with the end-to-end management of the US network. This involves defining all operational flows within the region and building templates that can be used for future team joiners. As our network grows the expectation is that the candidate will grow into a leadership position. This is an entirely remote role and will report into the Network Operations Manager based in the UK. The day to day role will primarily be undertaken in line with the Eastern Time (ET) time zone.

Requirements:
 

  • Experience maintaining DC EV charging networks
  • Second line support experience
  • Experience in building and documenting operational flows and knowledge bases
  • Experience liaising with third party suppliers
  • Bachelor’s level degree in technical field preferred but not essential

Essential Functions of the job:As Applegreen Electric expands, the responsibilities will evolve and change over time. The initial responsibilities will centre around the following areas:

  • Second line ticket handling
  • Implementing operational flows
  • Knowledgebase documentation
  • Ensuring optimal uptime for the Applegreen Electric EV charging network
  • Managing multiple third party suppliers
  • Managing third party level one support teams
  • Passionate about ensuring that a systematic approach is used and that high-quality decisions made near the start of development will reap significant benefits downstream
