APM Music is Hiring a Graphic Designer Near Hollywood, CA

APM (a joint venture of Sony Music Publishing and Universal Music Publishing) is the leading provider of original production music available to content creators, with an extraordinary collection of over one million hand-curated recordings spanning every country, genre, and era. APM is the go-to for thousands of music supervisors, producers and video editors, spanning every market. Our music can be found daily on platforms as diverse as Netflix, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Wondery, and Spotify, among many others. In 2023, as in every year, multiple Super Bowl commercials featured APM music content. In addition, APM tracks have been sampled by the likes of Jay-Z, Dr Dre, Nas, Drake, MF Doom, and many others. The APM NFT series (a cyclical, limited offering of music collectibles), offered via Dapper Labs, typically sells out within minutes.

The Role

We are seeking an innovative Graphic Designer who can interpret and communicate APM's unique story and enhance the experience of our brand through stunning graphics, illustrations, and photography for both digital and print media. The Graphic Designer will generate compelling visual assets for websites, landing pages, email templates, videos, NFT’s, print ads, sales collateral, and other APM marketing materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.
  • Translate brand guidelines into design templates and style guides for web and mobile interfaces.
  • Work closely with Product Lead and Design Lead to deliver designs end-to-end.
  • Work closely with broader cross-functional team to understand product vision, business requirements, technical limitations, target audience and customer feedback.
  • Communicate with developers to ensure design assets are delivered according to technical needs and designs.
  • Translate visual briefs into design assets that will communicate APM's value proposition at every turn, enrich the brand voice, and promote products and services in a distinctive visual language.
  • Responsible for coming up and maintaining the overall look-and-feel and creative direction, so that all assets are consistent and follow the same visual language.
  • Work with APM's Product Owner to help drive editorial content with original graphic assets, including but not limited to franchise logos, retouched photography, infographics, and video graphics.
  • Support the marketing team in creating graphic assets for email/newsletter templates, promoted playlist artwork, sales landing pages, social media graphics, print ads, event invitations, flyers, and more.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a web designer or similar role (3 years preferred)
  • Design portfolio showcasing design works, illustrations and minimum 5 case studies.
  • Ability to articulate design vision to a broad audience.
  • Ability to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet both client needs and company vision.
  • Understanding of responsive design.
  • Compelling portfolio and proven experience in creating visual assets in media/entertainment
  • Ability to illustrate original artwork and retouch photos for websites, digital, and print media
  • Expertise in design-related software, including Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch, Affinity, and more
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering highly polished visual assets
  • Experience in using project management software such as Jira, Smartsheet, Miro, among others
  • UI/UX experience a plus but not required
  • Ability to work in the office on a Hybrid schedule (currently Tuesday & Wednesday in office)
