Description
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine building
maintenance tasks. Performance of building maintenance tasks in one or more fields
(e.g. carpentry, electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing,
etc.). Performs general cleaning and other tasks as assigned. This is a full-time, nonexempt hourly position, reporting to Plant Engineer.
Key Job Responsibilities:
· When maintenance issues arise, must be willing to work the required hours to assist in getting the equipment installed and or repaired to allow production to resume as quickly as possible
· Maintain spare parts and supplies.
· Must be able to perform any Unscheduled/Corrective Maintenance on facilities equipment when needed
· Assist in setting up new equipment and production line .
· Paint, remodel, refurbish areas as needed
· Repair, maintain/monitor all equipment and amenities related to facilities
· Clean windows and glass doors
· Change of all filters for HVAC as required
· Change light bulbs, interior and exterior, as needed
· Maintain exterior property
· Manage and handle all vendor contracts, including vendors for various maintenance items, activities, and tasks
· Ensure the efficiency and operational capacity of all building systems
· Make sure that all maintenance processes and procedures are safe, and that all compliance programs are being met
· Develop relationships with building contractors and third-party workers to ensure smooth operations
· Create a healthy and safe work environment for all workers
· Coordinate with building and facilities security to ensure all maintenance services are provided
· Make sure that all Preventative Maintenance items remain maintained and on schedule
Requirements
Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:
· Ability to push/lift 75 pounds
· Ability to climb ladders and use personnel lifts when required
· Bending at waist, sitting, kneeling, climbing, walking, crouching as job may
· require
· Working in high noise levels requiring hearing protection
· Qualifications
· Working around lubricants, solvents, batteries, cleaning fluids, paints
· Must be able to read and comprehend weight and measuring devices.
· Must be responsible and be self-motivated.
· Must have previous manufacturing maintenance experience
· Must demonstrate manual dexterity and attention to details
· Knowledge of Compressed air / pneumatics, electrical single and three phase, control circuits, sensors, cylinders, and conveyors.
· Must be able to work with all types of hand tools and power tools normally used on maintaining equipment and or facility.
· Must be able to always follow rules and instructions, adhere to the high standards set forth by management and Apace Packaging.
· Must be able to multitask and work with multiple personalities.
