Packer (Night Shift 6PM-6AM)

Classification: Full-time, Non-Exempt Reports to: Production Supervisor

Date: March 2020The packer handles all product on the manufacturing line and prepares it for shipment under supervision and direction of Production Supervisor. A great opportunity with Night differential pay; Monday-Thursday nights with weekends off!

Essential Functions

• Measure, weigh and package product.
• Mark and label product and boxes.
• Examine and inspect raw materials, packaging and product to ensure that packaging specifications are met.
• Assist in troubleshooting machines as needed.
• Remove completed or defective product/material, placing them in specified area.
• Seal containers using glue and tape machines.
• Load packaging material and product into package processing equipment.
• Clean work area, material or supplies using cleaning solutions and/or hand tools.
• Record product packaging and order information on specified forms.
• Assemble corrugated containers, boxes, and displays.
• Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Education and Experience

High school diploma/GED

1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

Work EnvironmentThis position works in a warehouse setting and while performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. They may also be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment and job site can be loud. This role routinely uses standard equipment such as manual pallet jacks, box cutters and tape dispensers.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 20 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh up to 50 pounds.
