The GTM Strategy and Planning Manager will be part of the GTM Strategy, Transformation and Operations organization at Ansys. The GTM Strategy and Planning team partners with our sales and operations leadership to uncover new sources of growth, analyze business performance, recommend strategies to capture growth, drive cross-functional sales effectiveness initiatives and conduct market and competitive analyses. You will be a part of a team that’s tasked with solving complex and strategic business problems.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead, evolve and support the definition, enhancement and implementation of the global customer segmentation and account coverage model
  • Develop models and analysis, conduct internal and external research and synthesize learnings to support recommendations that drive change to the sales model or in support of strategic GTM programs and transformation initiatives.
  • Define performance measures and reporting requirements, working individually and with analysts, to evaluate effectiveness of GTM models, programs and initiatives.
  • Partner and collaborate with Sales, Finance, Operations, Enablement and other key stakeholder groups, influence effectively across all areas and levels of the organization.
  • Identify opportunities to improve Sales team efficiencies, and lead efforts to scale best practices across segments and regions
  • Act as a strategic thought partner to various members of Sales Leadership team, helping define and deliver on the sales strategy and program across the business
  • Build executive level presentations, reports and dashboards – in partnership with cross-functional teams

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from a top-tier university
  • Minimum of 2 years of strategy experience with a top-tier management consulting firm
  • Minimum of 2 years of additional experience working in sales strategy, corporate strategy, sales operations, Market Intelligence and/or similar functions

 

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • MBA from a top-tier university is strongly preferred
  • Direct experience designing and implementing GTM programs such as annual sales planning, segmentation, coverage model design, account selection, account-planning, compensation strategy etc.
  • Strong understanding of B2B sales environment – including sales organizational structures, direct and indirect channel, sales systems, and industry data used in developing go-to-market strategies
  • Effective project management skills, clarifying and handling scope, effectively structuring work, developing work-plans, engaging partners/peers (within the Sales organization and beyond) effectively & timely
  • Ability to work with sales leaders and account managers – balancing the need to drive corporate initiatives with empathy and change management sensitivity
  • Excellent problem-solving skills – ability to frame business problems, break them down into logical components, design and execute analyses to inform solutions and communicate insights with a bias towards action
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to construct and articulate impactful messages/insights from complex analysis
