During Anova’s current response to the Covid-19 Pandemic, you will be permitted to work remotely however, if and when circumstances change or by request, you may be required to visit or work from the Anova Nebraska Office (located in Blair, Nebraska). 

Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the Accounting Manager will have the following responsibilities: 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Manages the accounting staff who are responsible for billing, payables, financial reporting and budget preparation
• Recruits and hires accounting staff and conducts performance evaluations
• Coordinates training for new staff and identifies training needs for current staff

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Perform general accounting and other related duties in the accounting department
• Manage/maintain the general ledger
• Reconcile accounts and close the monthly books
• Prepare periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements and budgets (annually)
• Complete bank reconciliations
• Compile weekly cash projections and other reporting requirements
• Perform analysis to ensure accurate reporting
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
• Support year-end audit activities, gathering necessary account information and documents
• Support intercompany transactions, including multicurrency, multi-company, cross-functional transactions, and reconciliation
• File statutory filing requirements and supports tax compliance for federal, state, and local government agencies
• Own day-to-day finance activities within Anova, including ongoing journal entries, GL management and maintenance, and recommending updates to enhance the efficient utilization of ERP
• Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent management and supervisory skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly proficient working within ERP (ideally Epicor)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including very proficient to advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables)
• Experience in a multi-company, multi-currency environment
• Intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn and grow in the role

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5 years of accounting experience (ideally within the manufacturing industry)
• Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
• Understanding of and ability to adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
