Description

Anoplate is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our growing team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for General Ledger activity including journal entries and reconciliations, Fixed Asset Management, audit support, accounts receivable and payable support, and a variety of accounting duties according to established policies and procedures and other special projects as assigned. This role reports to the VP of Finance & IT.

Duties and responsibilities

• Perform daily accounting functions to assure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements
•  Support preparation of Financial Statements
• Perform account reconciliations and review discrepancies
•  Assist with monthly closing and annual budget preparation
•  Provide support for external audit related to annual financial statement review, 401k, R&D tax credit
•  Manage Fixed Assets system and prepare corresponding journal entries
• Support Accounts Receivable activity including customer credit reviews, cash applications, payment discrepancies, and collection efforts
• Support Accounts Payable and Payroll as needed
•  Drive efficiencies in accounting functions and improve internal controls by partnering with IT to maximize system capabilities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting with a minimum of three to five (3-5) years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing / distribution environment experience preferred.
• Proficient with using computer systems (software) to set up functions, enter data, and process information.
• Comfortable with Microsoft office software.
• Experience with Sage 100 and Paylocity a plus
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong external customer contact presence
• Must possess critical thinking skills and be able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
