Position: General Accountant

Role: This position will be responsible for a variety of accounting and financial duties and will need to be comfortable rotating these responsibilities in supporting the team and round out individual skill sets. Assimilate and refine both financial and non-financial information into concise, useful and meaningful management reports. Continually seeking to identify, recommend and implement process improvements and not maintain the status quo.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of all accounting and payroll function processes, structure and reporting.
• Maintain working knowledge of and support financial reporting systems.
• Support day to day departmental operations and staff, applying departmental policies and procedures, and making recommendations to improve systems and processes
• Support the annual budget and audit processes.
• Provide administrative support for purchasing card program and its effective growth across the organization.
• Provide administrative support for state and local sales tax determination and compliance
• Maintain the fixed asset records for the companies.
• Works to create a positive work environment that emphasizes accuracy and strict adherence to accounting procedures and controls.
• Administer accounting policies, procedures and practices to safeguard company assets.
• Special projects and other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting (preferred) or equivalent work experience
• Proficient in computer applications including MS Office products
• Ability to multitask, managing time and results to effectively meet deadlines
• Strong critical thinking and analytical review skills
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external customers
• Ability to work in a confidential capacity
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
