Animal Friends is Hiring a Development Coordinator (Full-Time) Near Pittsburgh, PA

Description

Help fuel our mission of a humane and compassionate future for every animal friend. 

Stewardship drives our life saving work and inspires a community where the animal-human bond is celebrated and nurtured. We are looking for a Development Coordinator to help manage our grant gaining, annual giving, tribute and memorial gifts and cultivate community engagement. This is a full-time, non-exempt position that will report to the Director of Development. The Development Coordinator is responsible for overseeing internal systems related to individual and foundation giving.

Essential Functions:

  • Build and cultivate donor relationships by communicating with donors via phone and email, giving tours, and accepting and processing donations.
  • Manage donor databases by entering donor information, managing donor records and creating donor reports.
  • Manage Tribute & Memorial Gifts and the Recurring Gift program.
  • Oversee Animal Friends’ Peer-to-Peer fundraising initiatives.
  • Manage grant gaining, including maintaining grant calendar, researching available funding opportunities, and coordinating with relevant program managers to prepare and submit grant applications. 
  • Educate supporters about Animal Friends planned giving and Lifesavers Society programs and coordinate the collection of information for their records.
  • Assists in soliciting and securing commitments, pledges, and donations from individual donors. 
  • Assist in monitoring budgets, expense reports, or other financial data for fundraising activities. 
  • Help identify and build relationships with potential donors and corporate partners as it pertains to events and programs.
  • Develop strategies to encourage new or increased contributions. 
  • Implement and help develop fundraising activities, such as campaigns and direct mail programs. 
  • Write reports and prepare presentations to communicate fundraising program data.
  • Manage volunteers and interns within the Development Department as needed
  • Assist and work in conjunction with other Development Department team members on fundraising events
  • Work in conjunction with other Development Department team members on the primary event Black Tie & Tails
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or minimum of five years relevant experience
  • Three or more years of fundraising experience with a non-profit organization preferred
  • Experience with Bloomerang software or similar CRM
  • Reliable transportation, regular onsite attendance, occasional offsite (local) attendance and punctuality is required.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule such as evenings, weekends, holidays and/or special events at times, including Black Tie & Tails Gala
  • Must have a sincere interest in the work, program, and mission of Animal Friends, Inc.
