Andworx is Hiring a Business Intelligence Developer Near Metro Area, DC

Andworx is hiring a Business Intelligence Developer to work on program evaluation projects and rich data visualizations supporting our federal government client. We are looking for someone who is a hands-on doer that is as comfortable building beautiful data visualizations as they are in interacting with stakeholders to elicit requirements in an agile and iterative environment.

As a candidate, you should have a background in client interaction and solutioning end user needs, data analysis and an eye for creating visually pleasing dashboards that tell stories to enable data driven decisions. Your experience should include creating reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI with a high importance on user experience, usability, and design.
Note: This position is currently a hybrid of on-site and remote work, however that can change at customer request. On-site location is Washington, D.C.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3 -5 years’ experience creating data visualizations and reports using data visualization platforms, including Microsoft Power BI, with experience ingesting, manipulating, and building relationships with data from various feeds.
  • Passion for summarizing, visualizing and converting raw data into meaningful insights through interactive and easy-to-understand dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI platform.
  • Comfort with maintaining and refreshing data dashboards.
  • Experience and comfort managing and manipulating large data sets, including data cleaning and transformation techniques, relational database architecture, and navigating querying sources such SQL Servers, SharePoint Lists, Excel Spreadsheets, 3rd party connectors, etc.
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Proven success with distilling technical concepts into easy-to-understand language for unfamiliar audiences.
  • Robust critical thinking skills with a mindset for understanding both the big picture and the small details.
  • Strong analytical skills to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate data and information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience building and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers, customers, prospective customers, and vendors.
  • Experience presenting dashboard and quantitative data to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience.
  • U.S Citizenship.
  • Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Power Query or data-driven programming languages like R or Python.
  • Technical certifications related to Power BI, database design, or data analysis.

Responsibilities

As Business Intelligence Developer, the candidate will leverage their blend of organization, communication, and BI technical skills, to perform the following:

  • Provide insights for our customer through interactive and easy-to-understand dashboards and reports.
  • Support the project team with various types of data analysis in Excel and other programs.
  • Manage and manipulate data for the development of new dashboards and manage regular data refreshes of existing dashboards.
  • Build relationships and facilitate collaboration across teams with senior managers, clients, and other external stakeholders to easily visualize data from multiple applications in a single platform.
  • Participate in requirements gathering sessions with the user community to capture and define data requirements and end user needs asking strategic questions to help define the technical requirements for data reports and process workflows.
  • Create and build, update and maintain new and existing dashboards and reporting solutions incorporating team and client feedback to provide meaningful insight into areas of organizational interest.
  • Define and apply user experience, user design, and visualization standards, styles, and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot Power BI environment problems and tune for performance to diagnose and resolve application bottlenecks and performance issues.
  • Present dashboards and visualizations to stakeholders and organization leadership.
  • Create business intelligence tool process guides.
  • Occasionally develop and conduct training for nontechnical colleagues on data analysis and relevant tools.
