Andretti Indoor Karting and Games is Hiring an Executive Kitchen Manager Near The Colony, TX

Andretti Indoor Karting & Games is seeking an Executive Kitchen Manager to join the leadership team at the XXXX AIKG location

Andretti Indoor Karting & Games is a rapidly growing Family Entertainment company. Our six AIKG locations have bustling restaurants & event spaces featuring culinary creations and scratch cocktails crafted in our kitchens and bars, as well as high-speed, high-tech indoor Karting on multilevel tracks, multi-player Virtual Reality experience attractions, and tons of arcade fun!

POSITION SUMMARY

The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for the leadership of the Andretti Indoor Karting & Games Culinary department with a focus on staffing, scheduling & training of hourly staff, cost control, food quality standards, operational procedures, sanitation & cleanliness, health department compliance and staff motivation.

The Kitchen Manager must have the ability to effectively interact, communicate and manage staff and guests. They must be the leader of the shift and create an environment that encourages ownership and accountability and are expected to maintain the quality and ethical standards set by AIKG while representing the Andretti brand.

The Kitchen Manager is a salaried, full-time position, with extensive benefits and opportunities for bonuses.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITES

  • Lead the unit Culinary Department with integrity and purpose
  • Empower staff to deliver exceptional legendary service
  • Always support the Andretti Indoor Karting and Games Motto “Striving for Perfection; Achieving Excellence”
  • Manage daily, weekly and monthly operations: food product ordering, staffing, scheduling, cleanliness, organization, service timing, and quality product.
  • Ensure banquets, buffets and event culinary offerings are consistent with AIKG standards and specifications
  • Responsible for compliance with all environment and health board requirements related to the preparation and service of food and beverage
  • Responsible for the development of Culinary Staff and Supervisors
  • Manage staff training and employee relations and assure that Culinary Staff morale is maintained at a high level
  • Take an active part in the recruitment and retention of staff
  • Manage Culinary department labor and food costs within acceptable budgets
  • Ensure site inspections are within acceptable standards
  • Manage organization and cleanliness of all food storage, kitchen, and food service areas
  • Work closely with Sales Department to ensure proper scheduling and planning for Events
  • Oversee, maintain and inventory Culinary Department equipment

QUALIFICATIONS

Guest service and leadership experience is strongly preferred. An illegal drug screen and criminal background check are required prior to employment.

Required Experience:

  • Experience leading in mid to high-volume kitchens
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Open schedule availability
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • At least 18 years of age

Preferred and great to have experience:

  • Two years of Kitchen Management in high volume environment
  • HACCP or Serv-Safe food safety trained and certificate
  • Interest and/or knowledge of motor sports
  • Proven leadership and team skills; ability to motivate and manage people
  • Strong knowledge of cost controls
  • Training and development background
  • Bilingual

Physical Requirements

  • Walk or stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs on a regular and continuing basis
  • Perform functions which require organization, bending, reaching, turning, lifting, climbing and stocking up to 50lbs
  • The ability to communicate quickly for both guest and team member interaction
  • The work environment includes bright, dim or flashing lights and loud sounds
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment
  • Ability to use a point-of-sale system and other electronic equipment as needed
  • Be able to maintain and enforce safety standards at all times
