We are looking for a driven, self-motivated Human Resources (HR) Intern who has an interest in gaining hands-on experience while supporting HR needs for Trade and Renewables businesses. This is a full-time, non-exempt position based out of our Overland Park, KS office. This is a paid internship opportunity and the hours worked can vary on one’s class schedule. As a HR Intern, you will: Work in a HR business unit department to gain a broad understanding of different specialties and functions within Human Resources, including Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, and HRIS Systems Assist with Talent Acquisition, University Relations recruiting and summer internship programs Develop an understanding of how HR supports short-term and long-term business unit goals Participate in continuous process improvement by collecting and analyzing data Maintain electronic personnel records in HRIS system Assist with responses to general questions or direct inquiries to appropriate HR staff Partner with manager and HR team for other duties As a HR Intern, we require: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required Currently a Junior/Senior level actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or higher degree in Business/Human Resources or related field Handle confidential information with professionalism Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with all level in the organization Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Proficient in Microsoft Suite, internet applications, social media platforms and HRIS systems This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed.
