What you will get to do:

  • Apply knowledge of geotechnical drilling, including soil sampling, rock coring, groundwater measurements, and planning geotechnical explorations
  • Oversees other geotechnical drilling related people
  • Performs work which involves conventional types of geotechnical investigations, software, and reports
  • Develop geo drilling scopes of work
  • Develop budgets
  • Field logging
  • Field investigations
  • Oversee drill rig work and testing of materials
  • Write reports and discussion of the results
  • Apply knowledge of soil and rock associated with entry level geology and techniques commonly employed in the field with drilling, soil and rock classification, assigning tests, and writing specific areas of assignments.
  • During the design phase, prepare reports for soil and bedrock related development of the site
  • During construction, assist with construction inspection and or testing of soil and bedrock issues that arise as needed
  • Communicate with the Field Services Drilling Manager daily to coordinate field drilling
  • Oversee drilling equipment operations, and geo laboratory testing for others and reports
  • Analyze geo engineering boring logs and other data, make assessments and write technical reports
  • Track revenue and expenses for projects

You will be a good fit if:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Self-motivated, maintain good client relations, and customer service 
  • Ability to work with supervision of other Mid-level Geologist or Geotechnical Engineer and or Field Services Manager in planning projects, preparing reports, and lab work.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment 
  • Client service and business development oriented
  • Ability to lead other geotechnical drilling personnel; work with other geo professionals
  • Review work of others and provide guidance for reviews
  • Enjoy working in the office and out in the field
  • Overtime may be required. 
  • Outdoor drilling sites in all weather conditions
  • Perform at Entry Geology level
  • Valid, clean Motor vehicle license
  • Pass drug screen and physical
  • Overtime may be required 
  • Heavy lifting, if required to assist the drill crew
  • Outdoor drilling sites in all weather conditions
  • Work on construction sites, as needed
