What’s the Opportunity?
Anchor QEA is seeking a full-time, senior-level geotechnical engineer with project management experience for our Irvine, California office. We are seeking a candidate with strong experience in overseeing and managing geotechnical engineering studies and designs, preparing scopes of work and budgets for such efforts, and direct interaction with clients and contractors. and who is looking. The position presents an opportunity for the candidate to expand their leadership, business development, and management responsibilities, and therefore requires an individual that has the interest and capacity to grow and learn quickly in a new environment.
Candidates for the position must have a M.S. degree in geotechnical engineering and a demonstrated proficiency in overseeing project work, including geotechnical field investigation programs (borings, CPTs, test pits, and the like), slope stability and settlement assessments, seismic design, and design of features such as retaining wall, pavements, and foundations; particularly in soft soils, nearshore settings, offshore sediments, and various challenging geotechnical environments.
Successful candidates will support projects with geotechnical, civil and environmental engineering design elements, and will assist in developing new clientele and geotechnical work opportunities in and around Southern California, the San Francisco Bay area, and other areas of the nation. The selected candidate will have an opportunity to work on a variety of tasks of differing complexities, both independently and in team environments and learn directly from leaders in the industry.
Responsibilities:
Managing, reviewing, and helping to communicate the results of geotechnical engineering analyses and calculations, construction RFIs, cost estimates, design drawings, and technical specifications. Projects will be highly varied but will often feature development, remediation, and restoration work in nearshore and offshore environments, so work experience in such settings will be helpful.
