We are seeking a Application Support Specialist who will be responsible for assisting with designs, development, testing and deploying technologies for the company’s software product offerings. This position is a vital resource in attaining the goal of delivering software products quickly and safely to customers. You will participate as a key contributor in the software development life cycle for the transition from an aging, monolithic transaction processing system to a cloud-native, microservice-based technology stack. You will support Operations by helping flush potential problems and finding solutions while providing valuable operational insight to the QA and Development teams.

** Base Work Location – Position is based in, Hunt Valley, MD - classified as Hybrid. TEMPORARILY due to pandemic, position is remote **

Responsibilities

• Completes duties associated with and is accountable for CI/CD pipeline scripting and management.
• Defines key monitoring points and monitoring metrics.
• Manages alerts and responds to escalated issues.
• Completes duties/tasks that can be repetitive in nature.
• Develops proficiency in and understands system scalability, safe software deployment and containerization management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in computer science (preferred)
• 1 years of experience with modern cloud interfaces, containerization or automation tools
• Understands and develops proficiency in system scalability, safe software deployment and containerization management.
• Demonstrates working knowledge of a software development life cycle and a DevOps cultural approach.
• Experience writing code in one of Python, JavaSript, Powershell, bash or like languages.
• Maintains personal and professional goals of continuing career path with initiative to learn and grow within role as DevOps team member/professional.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Demonstrates the ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment including stressful situations.
• Structured problem solving and good prioritization skills.

Preferred Experience and/or Education:

• Any DevOps related certifications are a plus; Knowledgeable in technology, horse racing, pari-mutuel wagering, gaming, sports wagering and/or experience in a start-up environment is a plus.
• Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a competitive base salary, bonus opportunity and benefits.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

• Requires travel up to 10%, including travel outside of the local area
