The Product Designer is an integral part of the Ensight Likwifier team. The Engineering Team works with the Customer, the Sales Team, and Production in designing equipment that solves complex challenges for our customers manufacturing needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Design equipment and parts using Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Vault, and AutoCAD.
· Update fabrication and assembly drawings from supplied 2D drawings and 3D models
· Update production designs to meet customer needs and internal standards.
· Develop Bills of Material (BOMs), customer drawings, manufacturing drawings, and other related engineering documents.
· Checks and verifies drawings for accuracy and manufacturability.
· Collaborates with a team of fabricators through a continuous improvement process to improve current drawing accuracy.
· Works with centralized purchasing to verify drawing specifications when required.
· Must be able to solve problems through collaboration and creativity.
· Engage with and develop positive relationships with the Sales and Production teams and our customers.
· May be asked to mentor less experienced designers.
· May perform other duties as assigned to help the rest of the team.
Qualifications
Education
Associate's degree in Computer-aided Drafting and Design (CAD) or a Mechanical Engineering degree.
Specialized Knowledge and Experience
· Solid proficiency in CAD. Autodesk Inventor experience is strongly preferred.
· Minimum of 2 years' experience in industrial mechanical design with an emphasis in sheet metal design.
Skills and Abilities
PC Skills
· Microsoft Excel – Proficient level
· Microsoft Outlook – Proficient level
· Autodesk Inventor- Proficient level, preferred.
Other Skills
· Must be a self-starter, able to take a vision and create a solution.
· Must be detail-oriented, with the ability to successfully follow through on assignments.
· Understanding of safety standards is required; including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
· Must be trustworthy, dependable and able to work well with other team members.
Travel
Limited travel may be required.
