Ampersand is seeking a Cloud Engineer in support of Ampersand cloud operations and migration initiatives. Position will provide operational input and support for the operations, maintenance, and refinement of Ampersand's Enterprise Cloud environment, execution support for migrating new and legacy Ampersand applications and services to cloud computing and continuous improvement of Ampersand’s IT infrastructure. This includes working with development and database teams to understand application and infrastructure current state. Leading team working sessions to identify, categorize, prioritize, and analyze data and information to work into cloud migration action plans. Working with the larger project teams to migrate legacy applications to a cloud platform\. The Cloud Engineer must have expertise with Cloud Service Providers including Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide operations and migration services that enable Ampersand to tailor the availability and delivery of cloud computing services based on business and technical requirements Utilize the future Ampersand Enterprise Cloud Tools, CSP native portals and tools, and/or other tools necessary to provide operations and migration support Provide inputs to senior IT management, which includes operating processes and procedures, and which has the goal of continuously improving the cloud program, technical, and operational framework required to effectively and efficiently deliver and manage cloud computing capabilities Upgrade, install, configure monitoring solution for AWS/Azure for Windows and Linux servers Maintain gold images Maintain cloud network configurations Run Books Responsible for reporting on current infrastructure status, and planning for future usage Automate the management and enforcement of policies Advise on cost efficiency for future usage and cost optimization for current infrastructure Work with Network Operations team to secure proper bandwidth EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: 6 years of Technology Support and Build experience Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required (10 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education) Extensive experience with implementing, migrating, managing, and operating systems/applications in an enterprise cloud computing environment A minimum of 3 years of cloud experience with AWS and/or Azure Extensive experience implementing, migrating, managing, and operating systems/applications in an enterprise cloud computing environment Experience writing technical documentation, especially in relation to Cloud architecture Significant hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services Ampersand requires its staff to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, where legally permissible, unless they are approved for a reasonable accommodation based on disability, medical condition, or religious belief that prevents them from being vaccinated.
