Ampco Pumps Company is a fast-growing manufacturer of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps used in the food and dairy industries, desalination, and various chemical and industrial applications. Due to expansion, we have an opening at our Glendale location for a 2nd shift CNC Machinist. Hours are Monday through Friday 1:30pm-10:00pm.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Interpreting engineering drawings and CNC programs.
• Setting up Mazak CNC machines and tooling accurately and efficiently
• Making necessary offset adjustments to tools and work offsets.
• Maximizing efficiency by inspecting, deburring, cleaning, and skidding while the machine is cycling.
• Inspecting machined parts and ensure they are within the appropriate
• Communicating relevant quantity and quality issues to management.
• Assisting with other Machine Shop projects, as needed.

Required Skills

• Must have strong attention to detail.
• Experience on Mazak mills or lathes is helpful.
• Knowledge of G code programming, CMM and inspection equipment is preferred.

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or GED
• Trade School or 3 years of Machining experience preferred.
• Willing to train the right candidate that is motivated and ready to work.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 50lbs.
• Must be able to stand 8-10 hours a day.
