A DAY IN THE LIFE:
Legal Counsel is responsible for managing Amount's customer and vendor contracts, including advising, drafting, and negotiating. They are an instrumental part of creating organizational documents, policies and procedures for Amount. Experience working at a fast-paced tech startup is ideal, but not required.
Team: Will be part of an agile administration team composed of legal, human resources, compliance and audit

WHAT WE'LL TRUST YOU TO DELIVER:
* Negotiate, draft, manage and advise on a wide variety of contracts including customer and vendor contracts, technology agreements, consulting agreements, confidentiality agreements and other commercial agreements
* Support growth initiatives and mitigate risk by working closely with Amount's product and business teams
* Help to create processes and controls relating to contract management and ensuring ongoing compliance
* Provide general legal advice and support to various functions, including technology, product, sales, finance, and human resources
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:
* At least 3-5 years of law firm or applicable in-house experience
* Substantial experience drafting and negotiating customer and supplier contracts
* Experience negotiating technology agreements
* In-house or law firm experience with clients in the financial services or technology sectors
* Business oriented approach to finding unique and cost-effective solutions to legal issues
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills
* Analytical ability and strong attention to detail
* Collaborative nature with general willingness to pitch in where most needed
* Self-motivated and dynamic initiator
* Ability to work under pressure for a fast-paced growth-stage company
* Juris Doctor degree with authorization to practice as in house counsel in Illinois
* Ideally located within commuting distance of Amount's Chicago Office
