Business Development Specialist

Do you have a passion for the shooting sports industry? Ammunition Depot is seeking a Business Development Manager to join our Marketing team. This individual will be responsible for the development and execution of strategic relationships and marketing programs to support the company’s sales and growth goals.

That means we are seeking an individual who is passionate and excited about contributing their gifts to areas outside of their core responsibilities, and is naturally curious about learning beyond their core competencies. That means you’ll have the freedom and support to grow our business using your expertise and personal touch. It also means we are seeking a high performer who wants to affect real change and make a personal contribution to a company via their knowledge of the shooting sports industry and its consumers. We are looking for someone who is excited by new challenges and enjoys learning new things. 


As the Business Development Manager, you will be the face and reputation of our organization among industry peers and partners, and will be the subject matter expert for marketing-to and selling-through our partner community. You’ll own an integral role in the growth of Ammunition Depot and its ecosystem of partners and media, and will work with a cross-functional team to generate leads, grow sales and brand awareness. 


That said, you won’t be starting from scratch. Our executive team has worked hard to put into place an operational and management structure which has helped us become a three-time Inc. 5000 honoree (2016, 2021 and 2022)! We manage the business using a structure called EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) which you can read more about here. What will you do?

  • Drive leads, and ultimately revenue results, through developing and overseeing execution of programs such as sweepstakes, link-building campaigns, media buys, events and sponsorships with our vendors and industry peers
  • Grow sales by leveraging loyalty and referral programs, including UGC and reviews to increase customer base and engagement
  • Bring awareness to the company through industry media, serving as the point of contact for media and public relations
  • Establish and grow relationships with key decision makers, positioning us as a leader and strong partner among shooting sports industry peers as well as outside of it
  • Manage engagement, growth and success of social media channels


If you are a good fit you probably have/are:

  • Proven success managing and building ROI-positive relationships in a high-growth ecommerce environment (preferably within the shooting sports industry)
  • Exceptional communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Proven analytical skills with the ability analyze data and problem-solve
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Familiarity with unique challenges that exist within the shooting sports industry as they relate to media and advertising
  • An entrepreneur who is unafraid to think big, take on risk and potentially fail
  • Self-motivation with a passion for growth and desire to make a real difference in the shooting sports industry
  • A positive attitude, a sense of humor, and the ability to be flexible
