AMIDA TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS is Hiring a Data Engineer Near Washington, DC

Amida Technology Solutions develops customized data management solutions for federal and commercial clients. Founded in 2013, our company specializes in all things data: access, interoperability, standardization, governance, security, and more. We employ data analysts, architects, scientists, and machine learning engineers to solve the hardest problems in data management.

Amida is searching for a data engineer to provide expertise and implementation services in data collection, data integration, data analysis, data mapping, data profiling, data mining and data modeling. You will be responsible for inspecting, cleansing, transforming, and modeling data and will address issues related to data completeness and quality. You will work directly with our customers to ensure that we are creating best-in-class solutions to solve their complex data challenges.

What You Will Do

In this role, you will be working with an energetic and highly focused team to develop and refine a graph database/machine learning-based decision support and predictive analytics system in close corporation with other data scientists and engineers. You will be responsible for analyzing the existing data and creating a data model to support the analytics system.

  • 7 years of recent professional experience in database architecture, database engineering, data analysis, data mining, and/or data science
  • 5 years working with Machine Learning and/or Natural Language Processing
  • 5 years of programming experience working with a subset of Python
  • An in-depth understanding of the terminologies, code sets, and standards of healthcare data
  • Experience in data migration to include data mapping and data profiling
  • M.S. or PhD in a field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Database Engineering, or Management Information Systems
  • Ability to communicate concisely and persuasively with software engineers and clients
  • Ability to work with the federal government

Ideally, you would have:

  • Experience working with non-Transact-SQL databases and SQL dialects, preferably Oracle PL/SQL or Cerner Command Language
  • Experience provisioning, using, and optimizing Microsoft Azure services
  • Experience using Erwin for data modelling
  • Experience working for the Department of Veterans Affairs
  • Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs' Electronic Health Record VistA
  • Experience working with Cerner's Electronic Health Record Millennium
  • Experience large-scale data analysis systems, such as Databricks, Hadoop, Pig, Scala, Spark or MPP databases
  • Experience working with Apache Parquet and/or Delta Lake formatted data
