The Global Marketing Director is a critical role in the Global Oncology Commercial Organization and has a significant impact in providing commercial leadership, strategic thinking and shaping a one team voice. Success in this critical role will result in substantial professional growth and advancement at Amgen.

The Global Marketing Director will play a vital role in the launch of bemarituzumab, a first- and only-in-class FGFR2b inhibitor with Amgen Fastlane status and FDA breakthrough therapy designation. The bemarituzumab program is in late-stage development for frontline advanced gastric cancer, and is simultaneously advancing clinical trials across other FGFR2b tumors, including NSCLC. Ahead of the first worldwide approval, the commercial team is currently preparing for key deliverables during a critical pre-launch period in partnership with the brand working group (BWG) markets and cross-functional business partners.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Work with the GML (Global Marketing Lead), Brand Team, and PT (Global Product Team) to gather integrate deep insights into the customer, marketplace, competitors, and business drivers and develop drive strong commercial strategy designed to maximize the value and adoption of bemarituzumab

  • Establish strong working relationships and collaborate effectively with key PT functions including clinical development, medical affairs, regulatory and value & access to formulate & evaluate critical choices for the asset, contemplate tradeoffs and deliver recommendations

  • Advise the PT on the critical success factors for the brand and the companion diagnostic in these tumor types and indications, and ensure that the clinical development plan, study designs and timelines can enable success

  • Lead the development of commercial presentations for therapeutic area governance and therapeutic area strategy governance meetings

  • Synthesize the commercial strategy, the potential value and the related financial investment in the global brand plan and other core marketing deliverables

  • Lead the development of key important questions and related insights with critical commercial partners in commercial data & analytics

  • Develop a congress and thought-leader engagement strategy to meet asset objectives in tumor types beyond gastric cancer

  • Collaborate with the GML and other bemarituzumab marketing team members to create foundational brand elements and core market-shaping efforts to support launch of a novel biomarker-directed therapy across tumor types and indications

  • Partner with Amgen Alliance Management on key initiatives that advance bemarituzumab in China with our collaboration partner, Zai Lab

  • Build cross-portfolio relationships to leverage and build upon Amgens leadership in NSCLC to inform understanding of the marketplace, competitors and key commercial assumptions

  • Mentor and provide feedback to marketing talent to deliver on the brand objectives and prepare them for their next roles

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 4 years of marketing experience

Or

Masters degree and 6 years of marketing experience

Or

Bachelors degree and 8 years of marketing experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Solid marketing capabilities, superior cross-functional collaboration skills

  • Ability to operate globally and locally with highly effective influencing skills

  • Deep experience in the oncology therapeutic area including solid tumors and companion diagnostics. Keen understanding of the science, market trends, and future opportunities and hurdles

  • A best-in-class marketer with experience developing and implementing innovative global marketing and commercial strategies for pipeline products and successfully launching therapeutic products

  • Prior experience with shaping strategy for therapies at early stages of clinical development

  • An ability to manage multiple demands and priorities on time, lead teams, problem solve, gain alignment and driving decision making is required

  • Has worked in diverse commercial roles supporting different products in various stages of the lifecycle, with a diverse set of customers in challenging and competitive markets

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in a matrix environment, managing projects involving multiple functions and shared accountabilities

  • Solid understanding of global market access, pricing, and reimbursement issues

  • Experience supporting partnered assets/programs

  • Possesses an understanding of global market dynamics and the ability to be culturally aware by valuing different cultures and being open to embracing diverse perspectives

The annual base salary range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $194,067 - $233,110.
